Help us... help
them! Coalition for Pet Protection is a non-profit animal organization founded in 1992.
CPP seeks to change Since 1992 The Coalition for Pet Protection (CPP) has been a driving force for service to local animals and the people who love them. Through the years our mission has evolved to meet the changing needs of the local population in Lincoln. For the past decade our primary focus has been to provide funds for emergency care for felines. Research showed us the showed that there was a critical need for this service. A recent case highlighted the necessity of our mission. A female cat had 7 kittens, after the delivery she was in dire need of an emergency spay. Time was of the essence, and CPP was able to take care of this quickly. We are happy to report that she is doing well. CPP also has a long standing emergency animal food pantry. An average of 1500 pounds of food are given out each year. The Coalition was extremely challenged by the pandemic. Our resources have been stretched, like so many other organizations. The need is great, and we have fixed our Give to Lincoln donation goal at $2000.21. + 2021 has brought many positive changes, and with this funding will help us continue our mission. We want to continue to make a positive difference!

Animal welfare is taking steps to ensure that animals are cared for in a loving and humane way. CPP helps in this area by providing food to low income individuals by way of our food pantry. We also provide emergency vet assistance. Sometimes the need arises for us to assist with rehoming an animal. Though we are unable to take custody of the animal we work with the animal's owners to find a new suitable home. Public education is vital to CPP and to any animal welfare group. CPP reaches out to the public at various events. We speak to them about issues such as the spaying/ neutering of animals, feline declawing, properly introducing animals, and lots of other topics. |
